CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Amid questions over the selection of the chief executive officer, or CEO, of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has clarified its position on the entire process. The Trust has denied reports claiming that retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra did not take part in the interview process.
According to the Trust, a search committee was formed on July 6, 2026, for the selection of the CEO. A total of 5,585 applications were received for the post. Candidates were assessed through a multi-level evaluation process involving AI screening and manual scrutiny by experts in Delhi-NCR, Pune and Sambalpur.
After this process, 16 candidates were shortlisted for the final stage. Face-to-face interactions with these candidates were held in Ayodhya on August 11 and 12. The Trust clarified that Air Marshal (retired) Jitendra Mishra appeared for the interview in the first shift on August 11. The search committee then submitted its final report and recommendations to the Trust on September 1.
The Trust said Jitendra Mishra was selected on the basis of the prescribed procedure and his qualifications. The clarification, issued amid the controversy, is being seen as a response to questions raised over the transparency of the selection process.
