CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has introduced a new cash-counting system for donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya following the ongoing donation embezzlement investigation. The trust has deployed a new team to count cash offerings collected from donation boxes and implemented a two-shift counting system under the supervision of the State Bank of India (SBI) to strengthen transparency and accountability.
Each shift comprises a dedicated team responsible for handling donations while enhanced oversight has been introduced through multiple supervisors, including former defence personnel. The revised process follows a successful trial period and is aimed at ensuring secure, uninterrupted, and accurate counting of devotees' contributions. A new in-charge has also been appointed to oversee the cash-counting operation after the previous official was arrested in connection with the alleged donation theft case.
The trust has stated that the revamped mechanism is intended to reinforce public confidence and safeguard the integrity of the donation management system. The measures are part of broader administrative reforms initiated after the Uttar Pradesh government's Special Investigation Team (SIT) began probing the alleged financial irregularities. Authorities believe the strengthened monitoring, structured supervision, and enhanced operational procedures will help ensure greater transparency, improve financial accountability, and protect devotees' offerings from any future misuse.
