CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Audience anticipation has grown after a new glimpse of Indian cinema’s much-awaited mythological film “Ramayana” surfaced. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita and Yash as Ravana. The new footage has drawn attention for Sita’s warrior avatar, Ravana’s Shiva Tandav and scenes of Ram battling demons.
The new glimpse shows Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita in a form where she is seen defending herself during battle and confronting enemies. The sword-fighting and combat scenes bring out a different aspect of her character. Promotional videos released so far had focused on Sita’s gentle persona, while the new footage also presents her courage and determination.
Yash’s portrayal of Ravana has also been given prominence in the new footage. A glimpse of Ravana performing the Shiva Tandav reflects the power, devotion and dramatic intensity of the character. The film appears to be attempting to present Ravana not merely as a villain, but as an influential figure marked by ambition and extraordinary powers.
Ranbir Kapoor’s character as Lord Ram is shown fighting demons. The new scenes offer a look at large-scale battles, a mythological world and visual effects. Kunal Kapoor also appears in the film as Indra Dev. The scene showing the vajra in his hand further broadens the story’s conflict between gods and demons.
Being directed by Nitesh Tiwari, “Ramayana” will be presented in two parts. The first part of the film is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026, while the second part is planned for release during Diwali 2027. Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman and Sunny Deol plays Hanuman in the film. The music has been composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The makers have used technology and visual effects on a large scale in the production. The new glimpse has increased audience interest in the film’s mythological characters, battle sequences and grand presentation.
