CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has rejected allegations questioning the quality of Patanjali’s cow ghee and other products, saying that the company’s ghee is pure and that claims of adulteration are unfounded. He also addressed the recent dispute involving former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
Speaking at a press conference, Ramdev said Patanjali’s cow ghee does not contain any adulteration and invited consumers to have the product tested in a laboratory. He explained that milk collected from cattle is processed into several dairy products and said questions about the manufacturing process were arising because of a lack of understanding about how ghee is produced.
Ramdev also said that Brij Bhushan’s earlier comments were based on information he had heard and that the two had subsequently met. According to Ramdev, their meeting cleared up the misunderstandings, and he did not want to take the dispute further.
The controversy had intensified after Brij Bhushan publicly questioned the quality of Patanjali products, including its ghee. Patanjali Foods subsequently filed a ₹50-crore defamation claim against him, according to reports.
Ramdev also rejected claims that Patanjali medicines had been banned, saying no Patanjali medicine had ever faced such a ban. These statements represent Ramdev’s position; questions and allegations surrounding the products remain separate from his assertions about their quality.
