CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The State Congress Committee President, Jeetu Patwari, conducted extensive public outreach in various rural areas of the Vijaypur Assembly constituency, encouraging people to vote for Congress candidate Mukesh Malhotra. During this outreach, Patwari engaged with voters from different communities, met locals at tea stalls, and spoke with small business owners and other residents to understand the sentiments of Vijaypur’s voters. He observed that the message from every household and village was clear: the people of Vijaypur stand with Congress.
In a meeting with Congress members, Patwari emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant in the run-up to the election day, on the voting day, and on the counting day. He advised Congress members to be prepared to counter any unethical tactics and code of conduct violations that the BJP might use to sway voters.
Patwari criticized Ramniwas Rawat, noting that Congress had given him a ticket eight times, and he was elected as an MLA from Vijaypur. According to Patwari, Rawat betrayed the trust of the people, the Congress party, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution by allegedly selling his seat for INR 50 crore to protect his personal wealth, including properties, colleges, petrol stations, and mansions. He added that Rawat’s actions represented a betrayal of voters, women, youth, farmers, laborers, and all social classes.
Patwari stated that there is a visible wave of change across the constituency to teach Ramniwas Rawat a lesson. If votes are cast honestly, Mukesh Malhotra will win by 60,000 votes, he claimed, but only if everyone unites to support Congress. He emphasized that Congress is the party of the poor, the party of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and the party of Mahatma Gandhi, with a history of fighting for the rights of marginalized communities.
He further criticized the BJP, saying that in the 2023 elections, the BJP had promised monthly payments of INR 3,000 for women, fair prices for farmers (INR 2,700 for wheat and INR 3,100 for rice), jobs for youth, and quality education for children, but instead, they have focused on filling their own pockets through corruption.
Patwari mentioned that BJP ministers, leaders, and outsiders are camping in Vijaypur, showing visible signs of fear and anxiety over losing. He stated that although the administration and ministers belong to the BJP, the people of Vijaypur support Congress and are determined to teach Ramniwas Rawat a lesson for his betrayal.
Patwari was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Singh, MLAs Suresh Raje and Babu Jandel, District Congress President Atul Chauhan, Block Congress Committee presidents, mandalam and sector presidents, and Congress workers during his outreach in rural areas.
