Raut Alleges Cash Offers to Rebel MPs
CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The political turmoil within Shiv Sena (UBT) intensified after senior leader Sanjay Raut alleged that dissident party MPs were offered additional financial incentives and shifted to a secure location in Rajasthan as part of efforts to engineer a split in the party. Raut claimed that rebel lawmakers were being persuaded to distance themselves from the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction amid growing speculation of defections in the Lok Sabha.
Describing the alleged move as “Operation Tudwa,” Raut accused political rivals of attempting to weaken Shiv Sena (UBT) through inducements and pressure tactics. According to his claims, some MPs were relocated outside Delhi ahead of a crucial parliamentary party meeting, further fueling concerns about internal divisions and loyalty within the organization.
The controversy comes against the backdrop of reports that several Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs have been exploring the possibility of forming a separate group or aligning with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction. Party leaders have responded by issuing whips, holding strategy meetings, and approaching parliamentary authorities to safeguard the party’s position.
While the allegations have generated significant political debate, no independent evidence has yet been publicly presented to substantiate the claims. Leaders from rival camps have denied wrongdoing, maintaining that any decisions by lawmakers are internal political matters.
The developments have added a fresh chapter to Maharashtra’s ongoing political battle, with the future strength of Shiv Sena (UBT) in Parliament now under intense scrutiny.
