CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke have backed protesting Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) aspirants in Pune and demanded the removal of the commission’s chairman. The leaders visited the protesters amid an ongoing agitation over alleged irregularities in the examination process and demands for greater transparency and fairness. Raut said the students’ concerns should be heard by the state government and questioned why the agitation was continuing despite Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stating that several demands had been addressed. He warned that the protest could spread across Maharashtra if the aspirants’ concerns were not resolved. Raut described the protest site as Maharashtra’s “Jantar Mantar” and said the agitation would continue until the students’ demands were met.

Dipke has also demanded the resignation of MPSC chairman Vivek Bhimanwar and called for reforms in the commission. He has previously backed the aspirants’ protests and raised concerns over alleged examination irregularities and paper leaks. The MPSC chairman has rejected demands for his resignation, stating that the Drug Inspector examination paper leak occurred before he took charge. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has transferred MPSC Secretary Mahendra Harpalkar following the students’ demands, while Fadnavis has said the chairman holds a constitutional post and cannot be removed by the state government or governor.
