CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: NIFT Bhopal organized the Raysil Meet 2024, an industry-focused event that provided students with the opportunity to meet top leaders from Raysil, the leading viscose filament yarn brand of the Aditya Birla Group. The chief guest of the event was Mr. Sanjay Vishwakarma, General Manager of Marketing at Raysil. The event was also graced by the presence of Mahima Chavhan, Branding and Communication Officer at Raysill and a graduate of NIFT Mumbai.
The chief guest remarked, “This session was beneficial for both the students and Raysil. Their curiosity and fresh perspectives gave us valuable insights, while we shared industry knowledge, which we hope will inspire the next generation of designers.”
During the event, students were introduced to Raysil’s extensive range of viscose filament yarns, highlighting the brand’s commitment to sustainability and fashion-based technology.
Raysil representatives presented an impressive display of their high-grade fashion yarns, widely used in premium garments, emphasizing the versatility, texture, and strength of these materials. The presentation helped students understand how these yarns are designed to meet the growing demands of the fashion industry.
The Raysil team also conducted an interactive quiz, in which students actively participated, and the winners received Pantaloons vouchers as prizes.
Raysil has partnered with seven NIFT centers across India to provide more practical learning opportunities for students. This collaboration has given NIFT students the chance to participate in the prestigious Raysil Design Couture Awards, which aim to recognize the creativity of final-year students and provide them with a platform to showcase their design talent on a national stage. Additionally, Raysil has provided yarn samples to NIFT’s resource centers for students to use in their projects. Another significant benefit of this collaboration is that Raysil will organize factory tours, giving students the opportunity to witness the manufacturing processes of these state-of-the-art yarns firsthand and gain an in-depth understanding of the textile industry.
Raysil Meet 2024 not only broadened the perspectives of NIFT students but also strengthened the partnership between NIFT and Raysil, opening up more avenues for future collaborations in design, innovation, and textile technology.
Shrushti Sonkasare, a third-semester fashion design student, commented that the event provided in-depth knowledge of the properties and applications of this eco-friendly material, showcasing its versatility in fashion.
The event was organized under the guidance of Vishakha Agarwal, Campus Coordinator of the Fashion Design Department (CC FD), and Mr. Akhil Sahay, Joint Director (JD). Faculty, staff, and students participated in the event.
