CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Delhi: A record 10,107 women candidates qualified for the JEE Advanced 2026 examination, marking the highest number of female qualifiers in the past six years. The figures were released in the Joint Implementation Committee report prepared by IIT Roorkee, which conducted this year’s examination.

According to the official data, 43,112 female candidates registered for JEE Advanced 2026, while 40,562 appeared in both papers. Of these, 10,107 candidates qualified, taking the qualification rate among registered women to 23.4%, compared with 21.7% in 2025.

The examination was conducted on May 17 for admission to undergraduate programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology and other participating institutions. Overall, 1,79,694 candidates appeared in both papers and 56,880 qualified this year.

The top-ranked female candidate, Arohi Deshpande from the IIT Delhi zone, secured All India Rank 77 with 280 marks out of 360. Her subject-wise scores were 101 in Mathematics, 86 in Physics and 93 in Chemistry.

The report also stated that 3,814 female candidates were allotted female-only seats, including supernumerary seats, while 37 women secured admission through the gender-neutral pool. The latest figures indicate a continued rise in the participation and qualification of women in India’s premier engineering entrance examination.
