CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal (a regional center of the National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi), organized Nature Painting for participants of the Summer Nature Study Program – Harit Shavak, and a study tour to a handmade paper production center along with a wildlife film show for participants of the Summer Nature Study Program – Harit Kishor.

During the Nature Painting session, the museum’s artist and director, Mr. Naveen Kumar, taught participants how to draw elements of nature like mountains, waterfalls, rivers, clouds, trees, and animals. The children also painted enthusiastically on their own. A total of 19 participants took part in this session.

Scientist-C and Program Coordinator, Mr. Manik Lal Gupta, stated that nature painting is not just an artistic activity, but a beautiful medium to express our sensitivity and awareness towards the environment. When we paint, we not only appreciate nature’s beauty but also realize that life is impossible without it.

For the Harit Kishor group, a study visit to the handmade paper production unit and a film show on wildlife were conducted. During the film show, movies such as “Kanha” and “Climate Change Effects” were screened, highlighting the importance and conservation of wildlife, the environment, and climate change.

As part of the same program, participants were taken on a study tour to the recycled paper unit of the Environmental Planning and Coordination Organization (EPCO), Bhopal, to learn how to create useful paper from waste paper.

During the visit, Mr. Sunil Kumar and his team explained the process:

Waste paper is first cut into small pieces using a rag cutter machine.

These pieces are then mixed with water in a hydra pulper, turning them into pulp.

To strengthen the pulp, hosiery fabric pulp and cedar glue are added and beaten in a beater machine.

This pulp is then turned into wet paper sheets using a screen installed in an auto vat.

About 60% of the water is removed using a screw press machine, and the sheets are then dried in the sun.

Finally, the dried sheets are cut into the desired size using a paper press and cutter.
