CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “Inauguration of ‘Regional Rail Hindi Drama Festival-2024’ Held in Jabalpur with General Manager of West Central Railway as Chief Guest”
The “Regional Rail Hindi Drama Festival-2024” was organized at the Rail Saurabh Officer Club, Jabalpur, with Shobhna Bandopadhyay, General Manager of West Central Railway, as the chief guest. This competition, implemented by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), saw participation from a total of 90 railway employees from the drama troupes of the Jabalpur, Bhopal, and Kota Divisions and the cultural academies of the Bhopal and Kota workshops. During the competition, a total of 06 plays were performed. The judging panel included senior dramatists Sadaat Bharti, Vivek Pandey, and Pragyesh Nimbolkar, along with the Deputy Chief Official Language Officer and Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer (Coaching).
In her address, Chief Guest and General Manager of West Central Railway, Shobhna Bandopadhyay, stated that drama is an important literary form. Through it, artists and dramatists present human values, emotions, and social events in a vivid manner. Plays influence both audiences and literary circles. She praised the railway employees for fulfilling their official and family responsibilities while also excelling in cultural activities. She noted that the teams from all three divisions and both workshops participated in the festival with great enthusiasm and congratulated the directors and artists for their outstanding performances.
She honored the top three plays with shields and awarded personal prizes and certificates to the railway employees who excelled in 13 different categories. The winning play will represent West Central Railway in the All-Rail Hindi Drama Festival at the national level. She extended her best wishes to the winning team.
The event was attended by Additional General Manager Ravi Shankar Saxena, Chief Official Language Officer and Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Amrendra Kumar, Principal Chief Personnel Officer and President of the Cultural Academy Prabhat, Secretary and Principal Chief Safety Officer Prabhat Kumar, along with other departmental heads, officials from the Women Welfare Organization, and employees of the Official Language Department. The program was conducted by Dr. Ramesh Rao, Deputy Secretary (Confidential), and Raj Ranjan Srivastava, Official Language Officer, with gratitude expressed by Santlal Marskole, Official Language Officer.
