CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: To promote the use and spread of the official language Hindi and to generate interest in official work in Hindi, the Ministry of Railways has implemented the ‘All India Railway Hindi Quiz Competition’ scheme.
As part of this initiative, on the directions of the headquarters of West Central Railway, a workshop-level competition was organised on July 20, 2026, at the Coach Rehabilitation Workshop, Nishatpura, Bhopal, under the patronage of Chief Workshop Manager Prafulla V. Kohade and under the guidance of Liaison Official Language Officer and Assistant Personnel Officer Sandeep Sharma. A total of 80 railway employees took part. Abhishek Sharma, junior clerk in the Personnel Department, secured third place.
Thereafter, on August 7, 2026, the Regional Railway Hindi Quiz Competition was held at the headquarters in Jabalpur, where 18 officers and employees from six units of West Central Railway participated. Abhishek Sharma secured first place in the competition, which was conducted in three rounds.
With this achievement, Abhishek Sharma will now represent West Central Railway in the ‘All India Railway Hindi Quiz Competition-2026’ to be held at the Railway Board level.
Sharma’s success created a wave of happiness in the workshop. Chief Workshop Manager Prafulla V. Kohade, along with officers and employees, congratulated him and extended best wishes for the upcoming competition. On the occasion, a felicitation ceremony was held under the chairmanship of Sandeep Sharma, where Abhishek Sharma was welcomed and honoured with a garland.
Abhishek Sharma credited his success to the guidance and support provided by the Official Language Section. Sandeep Sharma assured full cooperation for the upcoming competition and appealed to other employees to draw inspiration from this achievement.
