CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : The Regional Science Centre, Bhopal (a unit of the National Council of Science Museums) enthusiastically celebrated the Second National Space Day on August 23, 2025. The objective of this event was to connect young minds with the fascinating world of science and space.

An inter-school quiz competition was organized at the Centre, with participation from students of 24 schools. In the junior group, the theme was “Remember the Sky – Constellation Memory Challenge”, while in the senior group, the theme was “Sky Then and Now – Challenge of the Ancient and Modern Sky.” The winners and prize distribution will be announced during the exhibition inauguration ceremony on August 23.

On the same day, at 10:30 AM, a special exhibition titled “Space Heritage in India: From Ancient Skies to Modern Horizons” will be inaugurated. This exhibition, designed and developed by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), will remain open to all students and visitors.

The event will be graced by Chief Guest Prof. Govardhan Das, Director, IISER Bhopal, and Special Guest Amitabh Pandey, Director, IGRMS Bhopal. Additionally, a popular science lecture on “Recent Trends in Astronomy and Space Science” will be delivered by Abhirup Datta, Professor and Head, DAASE, IIT Indore.

Saket Singh Kaurav, Curator ‘E’ and Project Coordinator, stated: “Through this event, we aim to connect young minds with the incredible journey of science and space. With your support, this celebration will become even more meaningful.”
