Revanth Reddy Compares BJP To Kim Jong Un
CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has sparked a fresh political controversy by comparing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The remarks were made while criticizing the rejection of Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination from Madhya Pradesh, an issue that has triggered a sharp political confrontation between the Congress and the BJP.
Addressing reporters in New Delhi, Revanth Reddy alleged that the BJP was adopting a “Kim Jong Un model” by attempting to eliminate political competition and undermine democratic processes. He claimed that after allegedly failing to influence electoral outcomes, the ruling party had resorted to what he described as “seat theft” through procedural actions that resulted in the rejection of the Congress candidate’s nomination.
The Telangana Chief Minister further accused the BJP of being anti-democratic and argued that opposition voices were being suppressed. He questioned the circumstances surrounding the Rajya Sabha election process in Madhya Pradesh and defended Meenakshi Natarajan, asserting that the rejection of her nomination was politically motivated.
The BJP strongly criticized the remarks, calling them irresponsible and politically motivated. The controversy has added to recent tensions involving Revanth Reddy, who has already faced criticism over earlier comments that sparked debates across political circles.
