CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A review meeting of Panchayat and Rural Development Department schemes was held in the District Panchayat meeting hall, Bhopal, in the presence of Avik Bhattacharya, Under Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, New Delhi, and Accounts Officer Praveen Kumar Jha. The meeting commenced with a brief overview of the schemes presented by Mrs. Ila Tiwari, Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Bhopal.
Various presentations related to the schemes were shared during the meeting. The session began with a review of the Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin scheme, covering topics like ODF Plus model villages, community sanitation complexes, and waste collection and processing. This was followed by discussions on the progress of ongoing works under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and MGNREGA.
Innovative initiatives such as the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign and the restoration of old stepwells were also highlighted. Under NRLM, the “One District One Product” initiative featuring zari-zardozi work, and women empowerment efforts like “Didi Café,” were also presented. Details of midday meal distribution under the PM Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana and urban meal distribution by Akshaya Patra were shared.
In conclusion, the Under Secretary emphasized the need to resolve technical issues for effective implementation of all schemes and instructed that the schemes must be executed at the grassroots level with 100% quality.
