CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities, the four-day All India Inter-University Drop Roball (Men & Women) Tournament 2024-25 being held at LNCT University, Bhopal, at the LNCT Campus on Raisen Road, witnessed exciting matches on its second day.
In the women’s singles category, Purnima from RGPV clinched the gold medal, Sangam University secured the silver medal, while the University of Calicut and MSDU jointly won the bronze medal.
In the men’s singles matches, Manish from JJTU bagged the gold medal, IIMT University won the silver medal, and the University of Calicut and Shridhar jointly secured the bronze medal.
In the women’s doubles category, MGKVP won the gold medal, SGRR University Dehradun took the silver, and RGPV Bhopal claimed the bronze medal.
In the men’s doubles category, Sangam University earned the gold medal, Dr. RML University secured the silver, and Kalinga University took home the bronze.
The tournament observer, Dr. Devendra Singh Dhull, Vice Chancellor of JJTU University, visited the competition venue for an official inspection. He interacted with players and coaches and expressed satisfaction over the fair and live conduct of the tournament by the university. On this occasion, Tournament Director Ishwar Singh Arya shared that Dr. Dhull has played a significant role in elevating the Drop Roball sport to great heights. It is because of his efforts that the sport has reached the international level, and he has served as the President of the Federation for many years.
