CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal. As Diwali draws closer, small and medium traders across the country have stepped up preparations to meet festive demand. With rising shopping activity in markets and customers’ willingness to spend, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) expect growth in business. Businesses linked to clothing, jewellery, home décor, electronics, gift items and daily-use products are preparing their offerings in line with customers’ needs this season.

According to NeoGrowth’s Festive Outlook 2026 report, 80% of MSMEs have expressed expectations of better festive business compared with last year. Among traders covered in the report, 55% said they planned to increase stock, 31% said they would add new products and 25% said they planned to expand their business. However, nearly two-thirds of traders also said they needed additional capital to meet festive demand.

For traders, it is important at this time to maintain adequate stock, ensure timely supply and make products available to customers at appropriate prices. Digital payments and online sales channels are also helping small businesses reach more customers. According to experts, along with the possibility of higher sales during the festive season, attention must also be paid to costs and profit margins. Spending on raw materials, transport, storage and discounts can affect business earnings. In such a situation, accurate demand assessment, balanced capital management and time-bound supply will be important for MSME traders.
