CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Department of Humanities and Liberal Arts at Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU), Bhopal, signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ecosophical Foundation for the Study of Literature and Environment (EFSLE). The objective of this partnership is to strengthen interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies in areas such as literature, environment, gender, and human rights, and to promote socio-environmental literary awareness.

The MoU was signed by Samir Chaudhary, Deputy Registrar from RNTU, and Dr. Rishikesh Kumar Singh, Founder-President of EFSLE. On this occasion, Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari from the university and Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Managing Director of EFSLE and Assistant Professor at Delhi University, were also specially present.

The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts. She emphasized the need for environmental awareness, innovative academic collaboration, and social responsibility in contemporary education. She stated that such academic partnerships provide students with a broader perspective and make them sensitive to global challenges.

On this occasion, Dr. Rishikesh Kumar Singh delivered a lecture on “Ecocriticism, Eco-Pedagogy, and the Concept of LEGH,” highlighting the deep interconnections between literature, ecology, gender, and human rights. He said that it is essential in today’s time to understand literary discourse from an environmental perspective and to develop sensitivity in society.

Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal shared his views on “Environmental Consciousness and the Indian Knowledge Tradition,” emphasizing the nature-aligned worldview embedded in Indian philosophical traditions, the cultural heritage of environmental protection, and the relevance of the Indian knowledge system.

Samir Chaudhary stated that this MoU will open new opportunities for joint research projects, academic exchange, national and international seminars, workshops, and the introduction of eco-criticism-based courses for undergraduate students.

A special highlight of the event was the appointment of Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari as a member of the Central Executive Council of EFSLE in recognition of her outstanding academic leadership and contributions to socio-environmental literary initiatives. She was also honored with a Lifetime Membership.
