CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At the Khelo India University Games 2025 held in Rajasthan, the players of Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU), Bhopal, delivered an outstanding performance, bringing pride to both the university and the state of Madhya Pradesh. RNTU won a total of 12 medals—3 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze—securing first place in Madhya Pradesh and 16th position at the national level.
To mark this historic achievement, a felicitation ceremony was organized at the RNTU campus to honour the players and coaches. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Executive Vice President, AISECT Group and Chancellor, Scope Global Skills University; B.S. Yadav, Joint Director, Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh; Aishwary Pratap Singh, international Indian shooter; Jalaj Chaturvedi, District Sports Officer, Raisen; Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Sangeeta Johari, Registrar; and Dr. Anil Tiwari, Deputy Registrar.
Congratulating the players, Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi said that by achieving the number one position in Madhya Pradesh and 16th rank in the country in the medal tally, RNTU athletes have enhanced the prestige of both the state and the university. He said this achievement is the result of continuous practice, discipline, and a strong sports culture.
B.S. Yadav praised the players’ performance and said that providing a strong platform for university-level sports talent in the state is a matter of pride. Aishwary Pratap Singh shared key success mantras with the players, emphasizing goal-oriented preparation and mental toughness. Jalaj Chaturvedi highlighted that this success was possible due to coordination between the university and the coaches of the Sports Department. In the welcome address, Dr. Sanjeev Gupta and Dr. Sangeeta Johari congratulated all players and coaches.
During the felicitation ceremony, fencing coach Bhupendra Singh, wrestling coach Maha Singh, boxing coach Roshan Lal, athletics coach Shiv Kumar Prasad, and mallakhamb coach Bharat Bandhewal shared their experiences from the Khelo India University Games and motivated the players. The athletes also shared their experiences and expressed gratitude to their parents, coaches, the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, and the university for their continuous support.
At the Khelo India University Games 2025 in Rajasthan, RNTU judoka Ayush Mavari (−66 kg) won a silver medal, showcasing his talent. In fencing, Mohit Shrivas won a gold medal in the EP individual event, bringing laurels to the university. In the EP team event, the team comprising Mohit Shrivas, Shankar Pandey, Prince, and Bhavya Singh Sisodia secured a bronze medal.
RNTU shooters delivered an exceptional performance. In the team (skeet) event, Mansi Raghuvanshi, Vanshika Tiwari, and Mohika Sisodia won the gold medal. In the mixed team (skeet) event, Jyotiraditya Singh Sisodia and Vanshika Tiwari won a silver medal. Additionally, in the Rifle 50m 3P team event, Yakub Siddiqui, Nikhil Pundir, and Amit Singharole secured a silver medal. In the mixed team (skeet) event, Mansi Raghuvanshi and Dushyant Vijay Bhardwaj won a bronze medal, while in the team (skeet) event, Jyotiraditya Singh Sisodia, Dushyant Vijay Bhardwaj, and Aman Chauhan also won a bronze medal.
In athletics, Bushra Khan Gauri achieved a double success by winning a gold medal in the 5000-meter race and a silver medal in the 10,000-meter race. Manisha won a silver medal in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
In the Mallakhamb event, the team of Pranav Kori, Utkarsh Pandey, Pankaj Gargama, Aditya Gehlot, Yash Mamodiya, and Vishnesh Sugandhi won a bronze medal in the hanging, pole, and rope team championship, bringing further pride to the university.
University Chancellor and AISECT Group Chairman Santosh Choubey congratulated all the medal-winning players and coaches on this historic achievement and conveyed his best wishes for continued excellence in the future.
