CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of National Sports Day, the ‘Khelo India Dialogue’ programme will be organised across the country on August 27, 2026. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address more than 1,500 youths, sportspersons and students connected from different locations across the country. Rabindranath Tagore University has also been given the opportunity to host the programme.

A press conference was organised at the university regarding the programme. RNTU Pro-Chancellor Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Vats, Mera Yuva Bharat, Raisen Deputy Director Monika Choudhary and university Registrar Dr. Sangeeta Johari were present. It was stated that the main objective of the programme is to connect young people with sports, inform them about the changes and development taking place in the field of sports, and ensure their active participation in nation-building.

The main attraction of the programme will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s online interaction with youths, sportspersons and students. Key excerpts from the Independence Day message will also be broadcast during the programme, highlighting the country’s youth power and the positive and revolutionary changes taking place in the sports ecosystem.

For the successful organisation of the programme, Mera Yuva Bharat Raisen, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, is making necessary preparations in coordination with the concerned educational institutions and departments. The programme will inspire young people towards sports, encourage sporting talent, and hold discussions on the importance of fitness and a healthy lifestyle, as well as the role of youth in building a developed India.

RNTU Pro-Chancellor Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Vats said, “‘Khelo India Dialogue’ is an important platform to connect youth with sports and take them forward in the direction of nation-building through sports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with youths, sportspersons and students will inspire them towards new possibilities and opportunities in the field of sports. RNTU considers hosting this important event a matter of pride and is committed to ensuring maximum participation of youth.”

Monika Choudhary said that, in the same sequence, a district-level ‘Khelo India Dialogue’ programme will also be organised in Raisen district. Youths, students, sportspersons, youth volunteers, sports enthusiasts and public representatives from the district will participate in the programme. After the Prime Minister’s virtual address, an in-person discussion and dialogue with young people will be held, in which their views and suggestions will be taken on various issues related to sports and nation-building.

Mera Yuva Bharat volunteers, students, sportspersons, youth representatives, administrative officers and sports enthusiasts will actively participate in the district-level event. The objective of the programme is not only to motivate young people to take part in sports, but also to strengthen discipline, leadership, team spirit and the spirit of nation-building through sports.

University Registrar Dr. Sangeeta Johari said the programme to be held at RNTU will provide students and young talents an opportunity to connect directly with the Prime Minister’s thoughts and engage in dialogue on issues related to sports and nation-building. She appealed to the university’s students and youth to participate enthusiastically and make the programme successful.
