CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Cadets of the NCC unit of Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU) have brought pride to the university with an impressive performance at the national level. PO Cadet Diksha Ahirwar, a third-year BSc Agriculture student of the university, and Cadet Firdous, a second-year BA LLB student, took part in a national-level Special Adventure Camp.

The adventure camp was organised by the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering (JIM) at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, where both students received training in several adventure activities.

During the camp, the two cadets were trained in various adventure and mountaineering activities, including rope knots and hitches, rope coiling, base preparation, anchoring and belaying, bouldering, climbing and rappelling, artificial climbing, zip lining, stream crossing, jumaring, obstacle course, tent pitching, trekking and survival techniques.

University NCC Officer Lieutenant Manoj Singh Manral said the objective of the national-level training camp was to develop leadership qualities, courage, discipline, self-confidence, team spirit and the ability to work in difficult conditions among young people. He said both cadets, through their excellent performance, dedication and spirit of adventure, had brought honour to the university and its NCC unit.

NCC officials, the university administration and students congratulated both cadets, Diksha Ahirwar and Firdous, on the achievement. They also expressed happiness and wished them a bright future. Their talent is also an inspiration for other students.

Vice-Chancellor Prof RP Dubey said RNTU is continuously working for the all-round development of students. By ensuring active participation of students in NCC, they are encouraged to face new challenges and refine their talent. He said the university’s aim is to develop students not only academically, but also as capable, confident and responsible citizens.
