CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Bhopal District Yogasana Championship was organised in an enthusiastic and dignified atmosphere under the joint aegis of Rabindranath Tagore University and the Madhya Pradesh Yogasana Sports Association. More than 200 players took part in the district-level competition and displayed their talent in the sport of yogasana. Players from different categories participated with enthusiasm. The objective of the event was to develop interest in yogasana sports among youth and students, provide a platform to talented players and promote yogasana more widely as a sport.

RNTU students delivered an excellent performance in the competition, winning a total of three medals. Namrata Yadav won the gold medal, while Jatin and Naina Kumar secured bronze medals. Gold medallist Namrata Yadav has been selected for the upcoming state-level yogasana championship. The former DIG of Bhopal was present as the chief guest. In his address, he shared his experiences on the role of yoga in his life and the benefits derived from it, and encouraged players and students to make yoga a regular part of their lifestyle.

The special guest at the programme, RNTU Registrar Dr. Sangeeta Jouhari, also highlighted the importance of yoga in research and personal life. Discussing the need to promote research and a scientific approach in the field of yoga, she said the impact of yoga is not limited to physical health alone, but plays an important role in the overall development of an individual. She also shared experiences related to yoga in her own life. Dr. Sangeeta Jouhari said RNTU and the AISECT Group would continue to extend cooperation and support to yoga and yogasana sports in the future, so that talented players could get better opportunities and the university could continue to play an active role in advancing yogasana sports.

RNTU Students Win Three Medals at Bhopal District Yogasana Championship

RNTU Yoga Department head Dr. Ratnesh Pandey was also present as a special guest on the occasion. He boosted the morale of all the players participating in the competition and encouraged them to move ahead with continuous practice and discipline. Retired IPS officer Vedprakash Sharma, programme head and head of the Madhya Pradesh Yogasana Sports Association, addressed the players and encouraged them. Extending best wishes to all participants, he called for sustained efforts to take yogasana sports to new heights.

On the achievement of RNTU students, Akhilesh Vishwakarma, Assistant Professor, Department of Yoga, RNTU, congratulated all the winning students and wished them a bright future. Appreciating the performance of the players, he said students can achieve new heights in the field of yogasana sports through continuous practice, discipline and dedication. Nikhil Modi participated on behalf of RNTU as the coach’s representative in the competition, representing and guiding the university’s players.

The programme was conducted by Deepak Jain. He conducted the event in an orderly manner and welcomed the guests and participants present. At the end of the programme, Raju Kastwar expressed gratitude to all guests, players, organisers and supporters.
