CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director, Ajay Singh, a workshop on evidence-based medicine in clinical practice was organized with the goal of advancing a ‘One State, One Health Policy.’ Emphasizing the importance of evidence-based medicine, Prof. Singh stated, “Evidence-based medicine aids in making precise decisions, essential for achieving better patient outcomes. This workshop is a crucial step toward strengthening our healthcare sector and enhancing research capabilities.” He added, “Our aim is for all citizens to receive evidence-based treatment under the ‘One State, One Health Policy,’ ensuring equity in healthcare services and establishing a consistent high standard of healthcare across the state. This policy seeks to standardize healthcare in the state and deliver superior patient care through evidence-based medical decisions.”
This workshop is part of a five-day ‘Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis’ training under the ‘Saaransh’ program, running until November 16, 2024. It includes participants from various states and medical sectors, providing them with practical skills in systematic review and meta-analysis, essential for empowering evidence-based research methodologies and improving healthcare practices and outcomes. Experts from the Department of Health Research, Indian Council of Medical Research, AIIMS Bhopal, Christian Medical College Vellore, and King George Medical College Lucknow are conducting the workshop. The workshop will also highlight the benefits of integrating traditional Indian medical practices with modern medicine, promoting a unified healthcare model.
Director Singh underscored the importance of standardization in improving healthcare quality, stating, “The integration of evidence-based medicine, traditional medical practices, and modern medicine is crucial for enhancing healthcare. Standardizing treatments across the state will ensure that everyone receives equally high-quality healthcare services, strengthening and balancing our healthcare system.”
