CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A Safety Review Meeting was successfully conducted under the chairmanship of Western Central Railway General Manager, Shobhana Bandopadhyay. During the meeting, several important topics were discussed, including safety, punctuality, station redevelopment, infrastructure construction work, and safety inspections of trains.
Additionally, it was emphasized that railway staff should be provided with all necessary facilities and safety equipment during foggy winter conditions, and special attention should be given to the safe and secure operation of trains. Various other important matters, including tasks directed by the Railway Board and train safety inspections, were also discussed.
At the beginning of the meeting, General Manager Bandopadhyay stated that safe and secure train operations remain our top priority. She instructed the concerned officers to review ongoing infrastructure works. She further directed that all railway safety-related improvements be systematically implemented in compliance with the guidelines issued by the Railway Board. Emphasis was placed on monitoring train punctuality, speed management, and safety measures.
Under safety measures, steps must be taken to reduce asset failures and improve operational efficiency, which is crucial for secure train operations. Guidelines were issued to accelerate infrastructure construction works and ensure completion within the prescribed timeline. Directions were also given to expedite station redevelopment projects and other infrastructure initiatives.
The General Manager issued detailed instructions for continuous monitoring of train operations and punctuality during foggy winter conditions, ensuring strict adherence to Railway Board safety regulations. The progress of rapidly ongoing station redevelopment projects and other initiatives was reviewed, and officers from all three divisions were instructed to speed up their work.
The meeting was attended by Additional General Manager Pramod Kumar Khatri, Chief Safety Officer Praveen Khurana, and other senior officials. DRMs from Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Kota participated via video conferencing.
