CNN Central News and Network–ITDC India ePress / ITDC News Bhopal: The monthly Coordination Review Meeting of West Central Railway (WCR) was conducted under the chairpersonship of General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay in the third week of the month.

The meeting was attended by Additional General Manager R.S. Saxena, Principal Chief Safety Officer Prabhat Kumar, and heads of all major departments at the headquarters. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of Jabalpur, Bhopal, and Kota divisions joined via video conferencing. Several key topics, including safety measures, punctuality, station redevelopment, infrastructure development projects, and safety inspections of trains, were discussed in detail.

Focus Areas Discussed:

  1. Employee Safety and Equipment Availability:
    Officials were instructed to ensure the availability of safety equipment and facilities for railway employees during maintenance operations.
  2. Train Operations and Safety:
    Emphasis was placed on the safe and secure operation of trains, as well as adhering to safety protocols as directed by the Railway Board.
  3. Infrastructure Development:
    The General Manager reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects, including station redevelopment, line tripling works, and train speed improvements. Detailed discussions were held to expedite these works and complete them within the stipulated timelines.
  4. Winter Season Preparedness:
    Special directives were given for monitoring train operations and punctuality during foggy conditions in the winter season.
  5. Railway Board Guidelines Compliance:
    The General Manager emphasized the importance of implementing safety improvements systematically and following Railway Board directives regarding safety and operations.
  6. Station Redevelopment:
    The ongoing station redevelopment projects were reviewed, with instructions to accelerate progress and adhere to deadlines.

Key Remarks by the General Manager:

General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay stated that “safe and secure rail operations remain our top priority.” She urged the concerned officials to thoroughly review infrastructure projects and ensure adherence to safety regulations prescribed by the Railway Board. Additionally, the General Manager instructed teams to closely monitor train punctuality and emphasized the importance of maintaining high safety standards during operations.

Progress reports on major projects, including line tripling and station redevelopment, were discussed in detail, and officials from all three divisions were directed to expedite their work to achieve timely completion.
