CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, a special awareness program on the theme “Saheli – Together for Nation” was organized by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the Women Development Cell, in collaboration with Pragya Pravah. Held at the Srinivas Ramanujan Auditorium in the Takshashila building, the program aimed to raise awareness among girl students about social security, self-respect, and ideological threats.
The keynote speaker was Ms. Rajo Malviya, National General Secretary of the India-Tibet Coordination Association, former member of the Madhya Pradesh Women’s Commission, and editor of the monthly magazine ‘Kalyani’. The program was presided over by Vice Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari.
In her powerful address, Ms. Rajo Malviya emphasized that this is not merely a religious issue, but a planned conspiracy targeting innocent and vulnerable girls. She described it as an ideological war, highlighting how girls are emotionally manipulated under the guise of love, relationships, and friendship, leading them down a harmful path.
Citing examples, she mentioned over 400 girls in Kerala who were abducted and forcibly converted to another religion, noting that the term ‘Love Jihad’ was first defined by a judge in Kerala. She cautioned students that such orchestrated activities are carried out through gyms, coaching centers, social media, and more. Over three dozen cases were reported in Bhopal last year alone. She warned that these operations often involve financial backing, misuse of girls’ photos, trafficking, and forced marriages.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari shared a real-life incident from 1994, in which a prominent Indore business couple died by suicide after their daughter was trapped in a systematic and well-organized scheme. He urged everyone to look beyond religion and understand the ideological attacks happening in society, and the need to become organized and aware in response.
At the conclusion of the program, Prof. P. Shashikala, Head of the Internal Complaints Committee and Dean of Academics, clarified that the objective of the awareness session was not to oppose any religion or community, but to safeguard and educate the youth.
