CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Mumbai. The death case of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode has now reached the Bombay High Court. Sahil’s family has demanded that the case be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The family alleges that Sahil was under mental pressure because of alleged caste-based discrimination and harassment at the institute. However, these allegations are yet to be independently investigated and verified.

Family members say all aspects linked to Sahil’s death should be investigated impartially. They have also demanded a probe into the environment within the institute and the role of alleged discrimination. According to the family, they have several questions about the existing investigation, and it is necessary that they receive answers.

After taking the matter to the High Court, the family is now hoping for an impartial investigation through judicial intervention. Their objective behind demanding a CBI probe is to bring out the complete truth about the circumstances of the death and the allegations linked to it.

The case also brings to the fore serious issues such as mental pressure on students in higher education institutions, complaints of discrimination and institutional accountability. Developments related to the further legal process and investigation in the case are being watched.
