CNN Central News and Network–ITDC India ePress / ITDC News Bhopal: The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Central Regional Centre, Bhopal, enthusiastically organised a World Bicycle Day programme at TT Nagar Stadium, Bhopal. The objective of the event was to promote fitness, environmental conservation, sustainable mobility and a healthy lifestyle.

On this occasion, Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishvas Kailash Sarang was present as the chief guest. Also present were Priyank Mishra, IAS, Collector, Bhopal; Abhishek Singh Chauhan, ITS, Regional Director, SAI CRC Bhopal; Prof. (Dr.) M.K. Singh, Vice-Chancellor (In-charge), LNIPE Gwalior; and Ms Aishwarya Raj Bhakhuni.

The minister flagged off the cycling rally. Around 600 participants took part enthusiastically, including players, coaches, officials, personnel from CISF, CRPF, NDRF, SSB and ITBP, students from Sanskar Valley School and Bhavans Bharati School, representatives, members of the Cycling Association, fitness enthusiasts and citizens from the local community.

The programme remained full of enthusiasm and energy. Participants joined an energetic Zumba session and various fitness activities, spreading the message of an active and healthy lifestyle. On the occasion, the minister honoured Fit India Champions Pramod Bhati (Mr Asia), Prabhanshu and Ms Stuti, along with fitness influencers, for their notable contribution to promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

During the programme, all participants were also administered the Fit India pledge, reaffirming the collective resolve to build a healthy, fit and green India.

The event proved to be an important platform to inspire citizens, especially the youth, to adopt an active lifestyle and accept cycling as an accessible, health-promoting and environment-friendly mode of transport. Through the rally and awareness activities, participants collectively spread the message of a fitter and greener India.

This World Bicycle Day programme was an important effort to promote fitness, sustainable development, environmental awareness and an active lifestyle. The event was a meaningful initiative toward strengthening the objectives of the Fit India movement and the Sports Authority of India’s vision of a healthy and fit India. Carrying the message, “A dose of fitness, half an hour every day,” the programme encouraged people to make regular physical activity a part of daily life.
