CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Mumbai. After the firing incident on actor Tiger Shroff’s car, discussion around Salman Khan and his family has intensified once again. People allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang have claimed responsibility for the attack, threatened Salman Khan and demanded that he issue a public apology. Amid this, an old statement by Salman’s father and senior screenwriter Salim Khan has gone viral on social media, in which he had explained why Salman would not apologise.

What had Salim Khan said about an apology? In an old interview, Salim Khan had said that apologising would mean accepting that Salman had made a mistake, whereas, according to him, Salman had not killed the blackbuck. He had also said that Salman loves animals and asked why he should apologise for a crime he had not committed.

Questioning the demand for an apology, Salim Khan had said an apology is sought from a person who has been wronged or harmed. He had described the demand as a matter linked to pressure tactics and extortion.

Concern increased after firing on Tiger Shroff’s car. On October 18, firing took place on Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area. According to initial reports, the actor remained safe, while his driver and another person were injured. After the incident, a post and an audio clip surfaced on social media, in which claims were made of taking responsibility for the attack and threatening Salman Khan and those working with him. However, a claim of responsibility by any gang is not, in itself, a conclusion of the police investigation. The actual reason behind the attack and the alleged gang’s role in the case will be confirmed only on the basis of the investigation.

Old dispute linked to the blackbuck case. The background to the dispute involving Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi is said to be linked to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The Bishnoi community attaches religious and cultural significance to the blackbuck. The demand for an apology over the same case has been raised in the alleged threats. There has been no confirmation of any new public statement from Salman Khan on this latest threat.
