CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The death of veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar has sent a wave of grief through the film industry. Following his death, actor Salman Khan postponed a major event that was scheduled to take place in Mumbai.

The programme was to be held on October 8 at the Taj Lands End hotel in Bandra, where Salman Khan was expected to attend. It was being organised by GB Realty.

According to media reports, Salman Khan and the organisers decided to defer the event as a mark of respect to Nana Patekar and in view of the period of mourning. After the news emerged, Salman’s decision became a subject of discussion.

Salman Khan and Nana Patekar had worked together in the 1996 film “Khamoshi: The Musical”. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film featured Nana Patekar as Joseph, while Salman Khan appeared in the role of Raj.

Nana Patekar died on October 8 at the age of 75 at his residence in Goa. With his passing, Hindi and Marathi cinema have lost an experienced and influential artist.
