There is major news for fans of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan regarding his upcoming film ‘Matrubhoomi: May War Rest In Peace’. Audiences who have been waiting for the film’s trailer for a long time may soon get its first glimpse. According to media reports, the film’s trailer may be released on Friday, November 6. Preparations are being made to hold a grand launch event in Mumbai for this. However, there has been no official confirmation from the production house so far.
The film, earlier announced as ‘Battle of Galwan’, had its title changed to ‘Matrubhoomi’ in March 2026. The film is inspired by the military clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley on June 15, 2020. Salman Khan plays an Indian Army officer, a character said to be inspired by Colonel Bikumalla Santosh.
The film is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia and has been produced under the Salman Khan Films banner. Chitrangada Singh and Prashant Tamang will also be seen in key roles.
There have earlier been several reports of changes and delays related to the film. After questions were raised over the portrayal of China and some parts of the story, some scenes were reportedly changed and reshot. The film is reported to have received an NOC from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, but the situation is still unclear regarding the censor board’s final clearance and the theatrical release date. In this context, the proposed trailer launch on November 6 could prove significant for the film’s future.
