CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to Unveil Naming Plaque of Samrat Vikramaditya University on 69th Foundation Day
The naming plaque for Vikram University, Ujjain, which is being renamed as Samrat Vikramaditya University, Ujjain, will be unveiled by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on 10 October 2025, during the 69th Foundation Day of the university. The event will feature cultural performances by students.
Chancellor Arpan Bhardwaj stated that this will mark the second historic day for the university. On this occasion, Dr. Mohan Yadav, who began his political journey after receiving his education from this institution and established his national recognition, will unveil the new naming plaque with a sense of dedication to his alma mater. The first historic day for the university was on Kartik Krishna Chaturthi, 1956, when the foundation stone was laid.
Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Satyendra Kishore Mishra, provided details of the event, saying the Foundation Day 2025 celebrations will take place on 10 October 2025 with a grand ceremony, attended by the Honorable Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The events will begin at the university campus and the Swarn Jayanti Auditorium, starting at 11:00 AM.
The ceremony will commence with ritualistic abhishek and worship of the statue of Samrat Vikramaditya, followed by a Guard of Honor by NCC cadets, and Saraswati Puja and Manglacharan in the Swarn Jayanti Auditorium. After welcoming the guests with flower garlands and presentation of mementos, Chancellor Prof. Arpan Bhardwaj will deliver the welcome address. The program coordinator will present the event’s outline.
Following this, there will be a book release and cultural performances. Speeches will be delivered by MLA Anil Jain Kaluheda, MP Anil Firojia, Rajya Sabha MP Balyogi Umesh Nath Maharaj, In-charge Minister Gautam Tatwal, and Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar, culminating in the address by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The event will conclude with a vote of thanks by University Secretary Anil Kumar Sharma.
