CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal  /  Raipur  : In a proud moment for Chhattisgarh and South East Central Railway (SECR), young boxing sensation Sana Machu has been selected to represent India at the upcoming World Boxing Championship. The prestigious event is scheduled to take place in Budapest, Hungary this September, and Sana will be competing in the under-54 kg women’s category.

Sana, who trains under the SECR Sports Academy in Bilaspur, has been consistently impressing selectors with her agile footwork, sharp reflexes, and determined attitude. Her selection follows a series of strong performances at national tournaments, including a gold medal at the recently held All India Railways Boxing Championship.

Speaking on her achievement, Sana said, “Wearing the Indian jersey at an international event has always been my dream. I’m grateful to SECR for their constant support and to my coaches who believed in me.”

SECR officials expressed their pride in Sana’s accomplishments. “It is a matter of great honour for the entire SECR family. Sana’s journey from a trainee at our academy to the global stage is inspirational for all young athletes in the region,” a spokesperson said.

The Railway Board has also extended full support for her preparations, including access to international-standard training facilities and sparring opportunities with elite boxers.

With her grit and dedication, Sana Machu is all set to make her mark on the world stage and bring laurels to the country. The entire state and railway fraternity are rooting for her success in Budapest.
