CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MP Sanjay Raut extended greetings to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on his birthday. Referring to Bhagwat’s public statements and his political influence, Raut also targeted the central government.

According to the report, Sanjay Raut said Mohan Bhagwat expresses his views on several issues concerning the country and the world. He also referred to Bhagwat’s recent foreign visits. Raut’s statement came at a time when the Opposition has been repeatedly raising questions over the role of the RSS and the BJP in Maharashtra as well as national politics.

Raut also made sharp remarks about the government and said the country needs political change. His statement is being seen in connection with upcoming elections and the Opposition’s strategy. However, the birthday greeting extended to Bhagwat and Raut’s political comments emerged in separate contexts.

Meanwhile, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent foreign visits have also remained in discussion. A controversy had arisen over his visit to a gurdwara in Britain, on which the concerned gurdwara management had clarified that religious places are open to all and that the programme should not be linked to politics.
