CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal:  Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut made explosive allegations on Monday, claiming that four ministers of Maharashtra’s Mahayuti government were involved in a honey trap scandal. Raut has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the matter, suggesting that the scandal played a role in toppling the previous Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

Raut posted a photo on X (formerly Twitter) showing BJP minister Girish Mahajan with Prafulla Lodha, who is accused in POCSO and honey trap cases. “CM Devendra Fadnavis misleads even in the assembly. He claimed there is no honey trap in Maharashtra. Let a CBI probe this photo, and the truth will come out,” said Raut.

He alleged that during the Shiv Sena split, four MPs defected due to the honey trap operation. He further claimed that 16 to 17 MLAs and four MPs were targeted in a broader scheme that originated from Delhi to destabilize the MVA government.

Speaking to the media, Raut stated that two of the four trapped ministers belong to the BJP and suggested that Lodha was used as a pawn by the BJP but eventually turned against them. He sharply criticized CM Fadnavis, saying, “Though the name is Fadnavis, there are no cultural values.”

Raut hinted at more revelations in Tuesday’s edition of Saamana, the Shiv Sena (UBT)’s mouthpiece.

The allegations have sparked political uproar, with demands mounting for an impartial and swift investigation.
