CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Sanskrit play Naganandam will be staged in Bhopal on July 27 at the Bhopal campus of Central Sanskrit University by theatre artists from across the country.
The campus director said the university’s Centre for Natyashastra Studies and Research is ready to promote India’s intellectual knowledge heritage and Indian culture with full enthusiasm through new Sanskrit theatre experiments.
It is the dream of the world-renowned scholar and Vice-Chancellor Shri Srinivas Barkhedi that if Sanskrit students and teachers continue to contribute to taking Sanskrit theatre to people across the world, India’s vast cultural form will be visible to the world. This, he said, will open doors of employment.
Workshop coordinator Prof. Kripashankar Sharma said training is being given in both the theoretical and practical aspects of Natyashastra principles. Participants are receiving the training with enthusiasm. Theatre expert and trainer Girishan V from Kerala is conducting the training. The play Naganandam will be staged on July 27. Co-coordinator Dr Sangeeta Gundecha has appealed to those interested in theatre to attend, saying everyone is welcome.
