CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The closing ceremony of the Sanskrit Week Festival and Deeksharambh (Initiation) Program was held at the Bhopal campus of Central Sanskrit University. The event was organized under the patronage of Prof. Srinivasa Varakhedi, Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi.

The chief guest for the program was Ashok Kumar Varshney, National Organization Secretary of Arogya Bharati. Other notable attendees included Saraswat Guest Prof. Neelabh Tiwari, Director of the Nashik Campus; Special Guest Vishnu Rajouria, Chairman of the Parashuram Kalyan Board, Government of Madhya Pradesh; Honoured Guest Acharya Ramkumar Dewliya, Director-Chairman of Sanatan Karmakand Adhyatma Samiti, Bhopal; and the program’s chairperson, Campus Director Ramakant Pandey.

Honoured Guest Acharya Ramkumar Dewliya stated that the role of Central Sanskrit University is crucial in promoting Sanskrit. He emphasized that everyone should work towards the development of the Sanskrit language. Chief Guest Ashok Kumar Varshney remarked that life is full of change, and this Deeksharambh program transforms the lives of students. He noted that while education was once imparted through oral tradition, technological advancements have shifted us towards digitalization, often causing us to forget our ancient traditions. He highlighted that Sanskrit has many examples of modern relevance and is a scientific language.

Special Guest Vishnu Rajouria said that Sanskrit holds a unique position on the global stage. Saraswat Guest Prof. Neelabh Tiwari emphasized the need for the government to take significant steps for the upliftment of Sanskrit, urging everyone to reflect on the language’s development during such occasions. Campus Director Ramakant Pandey, in his presidential address, stated that Sanskrit, as the “language of the gods,” holds the highest position and that it is everyone’s duty to take it forward. He stressed that, according to the Indian knowledge tradition, the knowledge of Sanskrit is essential for the welfare of the world.

On the occasion of Sanskrit Week, individuals who made outstanding contributions to the Sanskrit field in Bhopal—Vishnu Rajouria, Rakesh Sharma, Om Prakash, G. Narsimhulu, S. Krishna, Ragini Sharma, and Rajni—were honoured with the “Sanskrit Bhushan” award by the campus. In the competitions held during the week, such as Sanskrit speech, essay, and song contests, students including Mohini Kachi, Deepak Arya, Gauri Bhavani, and Shubham Maithani were awarded.

Dr. G. Narsimhulu presented a report on the complete activities of the Deeksharambh and Sanskrit Week celebrations. Prof. Pradeep Kumar Pandey gave a verbal welcome to the guests, Dr. Pratap delivered the vote of thanks, and Dr. Jitendra Tiwari conducted the proceedings. The program was successfully organized with the coordination of Somanath Sahu, convenor of the organizing committee, and the support of other members.
