CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A Sickle Cell and Thalassemia Awareness Program was organized at Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Bhopal in collaboration with the 1 MP Naval NCC Unit. The program was held in the college auditorium from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets as well as newly admitted first-year students.
Dr. Aslam Khan, Medical Officer at IISER Bhopal, graced the occasion as the chief guest and keynote speaker. He provided in-depth information about genetic disorders such as sickle cell disease and thalassemia, highlighting their symptoms, causes, and preventive measures.

During the awareness session, students asked several questions, which he answered in a simple and scientific manner. The session proved to be highly informative and beneficial.
College Principal Ms. Dalima Parwani advised students to remain alert about their health and encouraged them to stay informed on such issues in the future. She congratulated the NCC cadets for organizing the meaningful event and expressed her gratitude to the guest speaker, Dr. Aslam Khan.
Special appreciation was extended to NCC Officer Ms. Shanti Sharma and NCC Faculty Coordinator Ms. Babita Goswami for their dedication and efforts, which contributed to the successful execution of the program.

The event was not only educational for the students but also helped them understand their responsibilities toward health and society. Everyone resolved to continue participating in such awareness initiatives regularly.
