CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The National Service Scheme unit of Sant Hirdaram Girls College organised a special blood donation camp under the National Health Mission, Madhya Pradesh, in sacred memory of Sant Shiromani Hirdaram Sahib and to mark his 121st birth anniversary.
The objective of the camp was to increase awareness in society about blood donation, ensure the availability of blood for needy patients, and inspire young people towards human service and social responsibility. On the occasion, all staff members in the college campus reverently recited Sukhmani Sahib, and a langar (community meal) was also organised for devotees.
During the programme, participants remembered the ideals of service, humanity and philanthropy associated with Sant Hirdaram Sahib and resolved to imbibe the messages of his life.
NSS volunteers took part in the camp with enthusiasm, discipline and a spirit of service, donating blood voluntarily. Before the donation, the required health checks of participants were carried out, and they were given information about the blood donation process, precautions and its importance.
During the event, the volunteers spread the message of “blood donation is life donation” and encouraged people to donate blood regularly.
On the occasion, the college’s NSS unit said blood donation is a great social service through which the life of a needy person can be saved. The volunteers and organisers present at the camp appealed to all healthy citizens in society to come forward, donate blood and become part of this humanitarian campaign.
College principal Dalia Purani and the NSS programme officers also praised the service work of the volunteers and appreciated their bright sense of social responsibility.
