A “Marriage and Family Counseling Center” was inaugurated at Sarojini Naidu Government Girls’ Postgraduate (Autonomous) College, Bhopal. The inauguration was carried out by Chairperson of the Janbhagidari Committee, Bharti Kumbhare Satankar, and Principal Deepti Srivastava. Faculty members and students of the college were also present on the occasion.
Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar congratulated the college on the establishment of the center and stated that this initiative will play a significant role in the preservation and promotion of Indian culture, serving as an inspiration for other educational institutions. Director Parmar emphasized that the family is the fundamental unit of the nation and that marriage is one of the sixteen key sacraments (Sanskar) in Sanatan culture.
Through the counseling center, experienced psychologists, sociologists, and professional counselors will provide guidance and counseling to students on topics related to marriage and family. Director Alok Kumar Nigam has been appointed as the coordinator of the center, and Sanjana Sharma as the co-coordinator.
This is the first government college in the state to take such an innovative initiative aimed at helping students understand the importance of marriage and family and strengthening family values. The goal of the center is to mentally empower female students so they can effectively face social and familial challenges.
