CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Uttar Pradesh government has appointed 2015-batch Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officer Satyam Mishra as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Vishisht Kshetra Development Council in Varanasi. The appointment was made during a recent administrative reshuffle in the state.
Before taking charge of the temple administration, Mishra was serving as Additional District Magistrate (City) in Prayagraj. He was transferred to Prayagraj in January 2025 and played an important role in the administrative arrangements for the Maha Kumbh 2025. He was given key protocol responsibilities during the event, including arrangements for visiting dignitaries.
Mishra is originally from Hardoi and completed his education in Lucknow. He entered the PCS service in March 2016. During his administrative career, he has served as Deputy Collector in Bareilly, Ghazipur, Maharajganj and Chitrakoot. He also served as City Magistrate in Rampur and later held the position of Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) in Moradabad.
While serving in Rampur, Mishra was involved in an anti-encroachment campaign. His role in the successful management of Maha Kumbh 2025 was also recognised by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who honoured him after the event.
Mishra will now oversee the administration and management of the prominent Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.
