Actor and former professional wrestler Saurav Gurjar, who played Bhim in the TV serial “Mahabharat”, has been arrested by Hyderabad Police following a complaint by a woman.
The woman has alleged that Saurav entered into a relationship with her after promising marriage and that she later faced mental and financial distress. According to police, the 29-year-old complainant began interacting with Saurav on Instagram in 2021. The woman claims their relationship progressed and that Saurav assured her they would live together in the future and get married. The complaint also alleges that the woman left her job in the United States and came to India.
Police have registered a case under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Saurav was stopped at Mumbai airport on the night of September 17. Police had issued a lookout circular against him. He was then brought to Hyderabad and produced before a magistrate, who sent him to 14 days’ judicial custody.
Apart from “Mahabharat”, Saurav Gurjar has also appeared in the film “Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva”. The investigation in the case is continuing, and the allegations made by the woman have not yet been proved in court.
