CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: To raise awareness about the growing cybercrimes in the digital era, the State Bank of India (SBI), Bhopal Circle, in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh Police, launched the “Cybersecurity Awareness Mega Campaign 2025-26”. The campaign was inaugurated with the flagging off of the Cyber Rath by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav from the CM House. This Cyber Rath will travel over the next four months to 42 major cybercrime hotspot locations across Madhya Pradesh, educating citizens on crucial topics such as digital security, password protection, and online fraud prevention.
Due to prior commitments, the Honorable Chief Minister could not attend the main event at SBI’s Local Head Office, Bhopal. However, inspirational messages from the Chief Minister and SBI Chairman C.S. Setty were broadcasted via video during the grand inauguration at the local head office.
The main event at SBI Bhopal began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and was attended by distinguished guests including A. Sai Manohar, ADG (Cyber), Madhya Pradesh; Harinarayan Chari Mishra, Police Commissioner, Bhopal; Pranay S. Nagwanshi, SP (Cyber Headquarters, Madhya Pradesh); Chandra Shekhar Sharma, DMD & Head, Bhopal Circle, SBI; Shivkumar Bose, Banking Ombudsman, RBI Bhopal; Swadesh Singh, DGM (OIC), RBI Bhopal, along with SBI officials and employees.
In his address, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, “Digital security is one of the greatest needs of our time. I congratulate SBI for this innovative mega campaign and highly appreciate the bank’s extensive efforts in fulfilling its social responsibility to ensure public financial security.”
ADG Cyber A. Sai Manohar emphasized, “Cybercrime is no longer just a technical challenge; it is a serious issue of social and economic security. Through this campaign, we will spread awareness and safety messages to every citizen with SBI.”
DMD Chandra Shekhar Sharma added, “For SBI, digital security of its customers and the public is the topmost priority. This mega campaign will write a new chapter in cyber awareness in society.”
Key Activities of the Campaign:
Cyber Rath Audio-Video Presentations: Dissemination of cybersecurity information through audio-visual media.
Street Plays: Live performances at major locations affected by cybercrime.
Puppet Shows: Engaging awareness messages delivered in an entertaining format.
‘Cyber Varta’ (Cyber Talks): Interactive sessions with cyber cell officers and experts.
Pamphlet Distribution: Easy-to-understand tips and guidance on cybersecurity.
Radio Broadcasts: Messages delivered to every household.
Social Media Campaign: Ensuring awareness reaches every individual.
The Cyber Rath will visit all 42 hotspot locations in Madhya Pradesh, including schools, colleges, markets, rural areas, and major public spaces, educating citizens on cybersecurity intricacies. The Rath will feature video messages from the Chief Minister, SBI Chairman, ADG (Cyber), Bhopal Police Commissioner, and SP (Cyber, Madhya Pradesh) along with educational videos focused on cybersecurity awareness. The aim is to ensure safe digital transactions, secure online activities, and collectively resist cybercrime.
SBI’s senior management believes that this mega campaign will be a milestone in digital security and financial protection, playing a crucial role in safeguarding citizens from cybercrimes.
