CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: SBI Suggests Education Reforms, Stresses Equal Opportunity for Every Student
New Delhi. The State Bank of India has stressed the need to make the country’s education system more inclusive and aligned with future requirements. The bank has pointed to the need for changes in the education sector that ensure equal opportunities for students and prevent their studies from being affected because of their economic or social background.
Strengthening access, quality and equal opportunity in the education system is being seen as a key issue in this direction. At the policy level too, quality and inclusive education is being given priority in India. NITI Aayog’s 2026 report has made several suggestions to strengthen the structure of school education, basic facilities, teachers’ capacity, digital education, skill development and student welfare.
Under government schemes, arrangements such as free textbooks, uniforms, transport assistance and development of school infrastructure are also in place to connect students with education and support economically weaker sections. According to the Ministry of Education, the objective of the Samagra Shiksha scheme is to provide quality, equitable and inclusive education to all children.
The broader objective of the proposed changes in the education sector is not only to increase enrolment in schools, but also to improve students’ learning levels, skills, digital access and opportunities for further education. This will keep the focus on connecting students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds with the mainstream of education.
