CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: National Science Day 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and academic dignity at Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Bhopal, under the theme “Women in Science: Catalysts for a Developed India.” The program was organized by the Faculty of Science in collaboration with the institution’s Innovation Council and Nature Club, with the objective of encouraging scientific temper and creative expression among students.
On this occasion, to highlight the significant role of women in India’s scientific and technological progress, activities such as a digital poster-making competition, reel-making competition, and student speeches were conducted. The program concluded with a film screening based on C. V. Raman.
Students from various faculties participated enthusiastically in the competitions, showcasing remarkable creativity, innovation, and contemporary scientific awareness. Through impactful digital posters and engaging reels, participants presented the transformative contributions of women scientists and illustrated their vital role in building a developed India.

In the reel-making competition, the first prize was awarded to Riya Acharya and Tanisha Makwankar, while the second prize was given to Insha Wasim. In the poster-making competition, Farzana Khan secured first place and Deepika Mewada won the second prize.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dalima Parwani appreciated the active participation and commendable efforts of the students. She stated that in today’s rapidly changing world, the role of science is extremely significant, and understanding scientific achievements while promoting innovation is the need of the hour. She especially encouraged students to move forward confidently and with determination in the field of scientific research and to make meaningful contributions to nation-building.
The event proved to be an excellent platform for integrating scientific awareness with creative expression among students, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. The program concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants and organizers whose support made the event highly successful and memorable.
