CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Two-Day Science Day Workshop Begins at Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University

A two-day workshop commenced today at Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University as part of the National Science Day celebrations. This day is observed to honor Dr. C.V. Raman for his discovery of the Raman Effect.

The workshop includes various activities such as Rangoli competitions, quizzes, a short film screening on Dr. Raman, and other engaging events.

During the inaugural session, the Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor of Jiwaji University, Gwalior, Rajkumar Acharya, emphasized that science provides opportunities to understand all aspects of life, and its essence lies in experimentation. He encouraged scientific innovation and urged India’s youth to pursue research for the well-being of life, the world, and nature.

Presiding over the event, Vice-Chancellor of Bhopal Bhoj Open University, Prof. Sanjay Tiwari, highlighted the critical role of youth in building a developed India by 2047. Quoting Swami Vivekananda, Subhash Chandra Bose, and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, he stressed that India must become self-reliant in the field of technology.

Prof. Tiwari also mentioned that in 1750, India’s economy contributed 24.5% to the global economy, and learning from the past can help shape a prosperous future. He further elaborated on the significance of the Raman Effect, stating that this discovery remains highly relevant in modern scientific advancements.

On this occasion, Registrar of Bhoj Open University, Sushil Manderia, delivered the vote of thanks. The theme introduction was presented by Shailendra Singh, while the event was moderated by Anita Kaushal.

A large number of faculty members, officials, and students actively participated in the event, making it a successful and inspiring celebration of science and innovation.
