CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal, the third and final day of the Science Festival—the grand confluence of science and technology organized on the occasion of the Centre’s 31st anniversary—concluded in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and excitement.
The chief guest of the valedictory ceremony was Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Secretary, School Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Shailendra Kumar, Group Director, ISRO–Master Control Facility, Bhopal, was present as the distinguished guest, while the august presence of Umesh Kumar Rustagi, Director, Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai (Western Regional Headquarters, National Council of Science Museums) added grace to the ceremony.
In their addresses, the dignitaries praised the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal for its continuous, dedicated, and inspiring journey over the past 31 years. They stated that for the last three decades, the Centre has been playing a vital role in nurturing scientific thinking, curiosity, and a rational outlook among children and youth. The guests urged students to keep questioning continuously, remain inquisitive towards innovation, and strive for excellence in their respective fields.
During the valedictory ceremony, representatives of various institutions that participated in the Science Festival were honoured by the chief guest with mementoes in recognition of their valuable contributions.
As part of the concluding day, a popular science lecture was also organized. On this occasion, Prof. Sunil Verma, Head – Photonics Materials Technology Division and Associate Dean (Academics), Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore, delivered a lecture on Research Activities Related to Materials Science and Bio-Photonics at RRCAT, Indore. In his lecture, he highlighted cutting-edge research in the fields of materials science and bio-photonics, their practical applications, and their roles in healthcare, industry, and advanced technologies. He also informed students about the academic and career opportunities available in this field.
On the final day of the Science Festival, a large number of visitors toured the Regional Science Centre to view science- and technology-based exhibitions. Students and members of the general public observed various scientific models, technological innovations, and research activities, gaining a firsthand and experiential understanding of science.
Thus, the grand confluence of science and technology, Science Festival 2025–26, concluded successfully with positive messages, inspiring thoughts, and wide public participation.
