CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In Shivpuri, the city of Lord Shiva, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the beautified head post office and performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the country’s seventh postal training centre.
Under the Government of India’s ambitious post office modernisation initiative, the makeover and look-and-feel improvement work of Shivpuri Head Post Office was carried out in accordance with the design guidelines of the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. Keeping Shivpuri’s historical and cultural identity in mind, the post office building has been given a modern, attractive and citizen-centric form.
Along with this, Scindia performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the country’s seventh postal training centre in the Kakravaya area of Shivpuri city at a cost of ₹85 crore. This postal training centre will be a national-level facility where employees of the Department of Posts from not only Madhya Pradesh but also neighbouring states will be trained.
On the occasion, Devendra Jain, MLA, Shivpuri Assembly constituency; Mahendra Ramsingh Yadav, MLA, Kolaras; Pritam Singh Lodhi, MLA, Pichhore; Jasmant Jatav, district president, Bharatiya Janata Party, Shivpuri; Neha-Amit Yadav, chairperson, District Panchayat Shivpuri; Gayatri Sharma, chairperson, Municipal Council, Shivpuri; and senior postal department officers S.F.H. Rizvi, member, Postal Services Board; Vineet Mathur, chief postmaster general, M.P. Circle; Nirmal Singh, DDG (Estate); R.S. Raghuvanshi, director, Postal Services, Bhopal Region; VPS Yadav, superintendent of post offices, Shivpuri, along with other senior officers and employees of the Department of Posts, public representatives and a large number of distinguished citizens were present.
