The programme began at 8 am with the welcome of yoga expert Dr Ruchi Shukla of Barkatullah University, Bhopal. In her inspiring address, she described yoga not merely as exercise, but as a holistic way of life. She said regular yoga practice strengthens flexibility, balance, immunity and emotional well-being. Yoga is especially beneficial for senior citizens, she said, as it is an effective means of preventing lifestyle-related diseases, managing stress and improving quality of life. She urged all participants to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives.
A practical yoga session was also held during the programme, in which participants practised stretching exercises, various yogasanas, pranayama and meditation. At SGSU, our effort is not limited only to skill and career building, but we give equal importance to the holistic personality development of students, mental health and a disciplined lifestyle. Events like yoga make students stronger from within and more aware towards life.”
