CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Scope Global Skills University (SGSU), Central India’s first skills university, has been recognized by the Government of India’s National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) as an Awarding Body.

As an NCVET-approved Awarding Body, SGSU can design new courses and qualifications aligned with industry needs and also certify students on these qualifications, thereby enabling young people to access better employment opportunities. NCVET, under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, is the apex body responsible for setting standards in vocational education in India.

On this occasion, Chancellor Siddharth Chaturvedi said, “Receiving this recognition is a matter of pride for us. It will help us create benchmarks that meet both industry expectations and the workforce requirements of the nation. This step strengthens our mission to empower India’s demographic strength. NCVET-recognized Awarding Bodies play a critical role in setting standards for skill development programs. Their approval ensures quality training and provides better employment opportunities for youth. They can also design new qualifications as per industry demand and certify students accordingly.”

Vice Chancellor Vijay Singh added, “After this achievement, our goal is to deepen our partnerships with industry. We are aligning our programs with emerging sectors like IT, renewable energy, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing to ensure our students are ready for future needs. The university has already established cutting-edge Centers of Excellence in areas such as Internet of Things, Automotive Technology, and Renewable Energy.”

Registrar Sitesh Kumar Sinha said, “Our specialized laboratories and collaborations with companies like Lucas Nuelle and Hero provide practical training opportunities to students. This recognition enables SGSU to play a vital role in India’s skill development ecosystem.”
